 Bemis Rocks the Books

 

I am obsessed with reading. I said obsessed and I meant it. I cannot be without a book, magazine or my ipad anywhere, ever. Honestly, it's a sickness, I think? I read while cooking, book or electronic device in one hand spoon stirring a pot in the other. I love, love, love to read!!! Cannot be overstated.

 

Years ago, I started to write book reviews as a way to track what I have read. At the time I would read a lot of single author's multiple books, (think Roberts, Delinsky, Piccoult, and others). After awhile, all the books began to run together in my mind as one big oversized novel with many different characters. It bothered me that I could not easily remember a book I had recently read. It bothered me even more when a promising "new" book caught my eye only realize a few pages in that I had already read it. This is what it took to jog my memory, pretty lame.

 

Also, whenever anyone would ask me if I had recently read anything "good", I would stubbornly draw a blank. What, was I, 80 years old? Once I started these reviews, it became a firmly ingrained habit. I really work the creative juices too. Sometimes, I will write a short, sweet account but mostly, mine are lengthy. I like to give some meat to my reviews so oftentimes they will be as long as some of the books I have read.

 

Still waiting to join that book club, the one where every book chosen is one I really want to read. In the meantime, if you're looking for something to read, you came to the right place.
